Learn How to Level all your professions with the best World of Warcraft Professions Guide
Alchemy
Alchemy is probably one of the hardest World of Warcraft Professions to level. The reason is it is EXPENSIVE. You will probably spend more to level it than you will earn until it is a high level. Alchemy is a great profession if you want to make the potions used to boost your abilities and stats. You can make healing poitions and mana potions. You can also make different oils that enhance weapons, and Elixers to boost stats. Elixers are like potions, except they will have a longer duration before wearing off.
Alchemy pairs well with the Herbalism gathering profession, since you will be using those herbs for your craft.
Alchemy potions are usually easy to sell. However, some of the potions cost more to make than they will sell for, if you are buying your materials instead of gathering them yourself.
You can choose to specialize in Potions, Elixers, or Transmutation. Each of these specializations will give you a chance of making multiple items for the same material costs of making one item.
Leatherworking
Leatherworking is the only one of the World of Warcraft profession geared towards making light armor. You can make cloaks, leather armor, chain armor, ammo pouches, and quivers. You will also learn to make leather armor kits to boost armor defense. The best gathering job to pair with leatherworking would be Skinning, so you can get your own leather for your crafting. One great aspect of leatherworking is you do not have to have a lot of specialized equipment, or be in any specific location to do it. However, you will need to have some items from vendors such as threads and salts to cure hides. You can easily purchase those as you need them.
Once you have reached level 40 and a Leatherworking skill of 250, you can quest to get a specialization. You can choose from Elemental, Dragonscale, and Tribal specializations. Each of these will allow you to make a soulbound set of armor that you can use for yourself.
Leatherworking is great if you are Rogue, Hunter, Druid, or Shaman. These classes will all use the armor created through Leatherworking. Rogue and Hunter can also use the ammo pouches and quivers for their ranged ammunition.
Engineering
Engineering is one of the most fun World of Warcraft professions. Engineering makes mechanical items to be used by different crafts and during leveling. The metals gained from Mining make that the best profession to pair with Engineering. If you choose to level Engineering, you can make a wide variety of useful items, as well as a bunch of junk that is useless but sometimes fun to play with. You can make guns, goggles, scopes, shot for guns, and explosives for AOE damage.
If you are playing a gnome, you also get a +15 racial bonus to Engineering skill.
Engineering is the best for Hunter class characters. You will be making the guns and ammo you need to level your Hunter quickly. It is a great profession for low level characters because many of the items you can use rely on your engineering ability not your job level. You can spend some time leveling your craft skill and make leveling much easier to get started leveling.
Once you get to level 40 and an Engineering skill of 250, you can choose to specialize.You get the choices of Gnomish Engineer or Goblin Engineer. Both have different Items you will be able to craft, but which can be used by anyone with the Engineering craft skilled up.
