World of Warcraft mining is a great career move for a number of reasons. This profession will provide you with the resources to create armor, weapons and other useful items that would be much more costly if you had to purchase the precious metals.

You do not have to be a blacksmith, engineer or jewel-crafter to be a miner. Since you will stumble across these resources in your travels, you can choose to collect them as you go and sell them later at auction or to professions that need them.
If you choose World of Warcraft mining, you need to be aware of certain things. For instance, you will need iron and coal to create steel. For bronze, you will need to collect copper and tin. You will also want to know the best places to find certain precious resources and reduce your search time.
Look in the online World of Warcraft guide under professions/mining for a list of all the locations. They are listed by ore and geographic location. For instance, you will find copper and tin around the Silverpine Forest and the Stonetalon Mountains. It’s up to you to find the actual veins.
Use your “find minerals” icon to reveal mineral deposits when you are near a quest location, especially in mountain terrain where they are often found. It’s best to keep the “find minerals” open as you go so you can quickly spot the vein locations.

While World of Warcraft mining, it helps to know the skill level required to collect each resource. Copper is the easiest with a skill level of one. Gold requires a level of 155, and the highest skill level of 450 is needed for titanium node.
You will be looking for three main types of minerals as you mine – metal, stones and gems. Each has its uses. Blacksmithing and engineering use rare gems and stones. The benefit of stones is that you do not require a forge to use them. It’s important to know whether you will gain additional skills by mining a particular vein, which you can find out by running your mouse over the vein.
If the vein turns gray, you will not benefit your skills there. Orange indicates that it offers the best opportunity for you to improve your skills. Red means that you are not yet ready to mine there.
Avoid claim jumping. It’s quite possible that you will end up mining where someone else is also mining. You can either agree to alternate so that you both improve your mining skills or you can simply take it all for yourself.
Once you have a good supply of precious metals, find a forge in the town to turn them into weapons and armor.
If you choose World of Warcraft mining as a profession or just as an easy opportunity to gather minerals top sell, remember that the products you mine will be increasingly more profitable as you improve your mining skills.
