World Of Warcraft Character Transfer

Don’t Stay Away From The Voodoo!
What with the imminent release of World of Warcraft Cataclysm and with the introduction of new races (goblins for the Horde and worgen for the Alliance), you may be tempted to disregard some of the classic World of Warcraft races (I mean, how many people chose to play as blood elves and draenei when The Burning Crusade was released?). However, some of them and their lore are really quite cool, and as such I’m going to take you on a tour of one of my favourites: the trolls.
Having been in the Warcraft series since its early beginnings as an RTS (particularly in Warcraft III), trolls have also featured quite prominently in World of Warcraft despite only being made playable fairly late in development. The trolls you can play in WoW are of the Darkspear tribe, and the racial traits that they all share include beserking, regeneration, beast slaying, throwing and bow specialisations and Da Voodoo Shuffle (which reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects; as the tooltip quite rightly puts it: “Trolls be flippin’ out mon!”). The Darkspears, like most of their kind, are very tall (although this is hidden somewhat by their permanent slouch) with skin ranging from blue to purplish green and giant curved tusks. In WoW Cataclysm trolls will also be able to become druids and warlocks in addition to their existing class options.
The history of the troll race goes back a long way, and they were undoubtedly the first race on Azeroth followed by the night elves (it is even speculated that night elves may have mutated from trolls who went too close to the Well of Eternity). Their racial leader Vol’jin, a close personal friend of Thrall’s, will be moved to the new troll starting area in Cataclysm, which is the Echo Isles reclaimed and renamed Darkspear Isles.
So, when you pre order WoW Cataclysm make sure to make at least one troll character (it’s not like you really wanted to be a worgen anyway, right?); don’t stay away from da voodoo!
