warhammer 40k Dark Eldar?
I’ve been thinking of starting a Dark Eldar army but i’ve read many different things like theres might be new models/codex coming out (dated for years now, from 2003-2008) and even some rumors that GW is trying to kill them off.
I was think a pure fast attack army of dark eldar reaver jetbikes with a couple dark eldar ravagers and (maybe a small mix of troops). I did it with space marines years ago with a bikes and a couple Predator tanks and it was alot of fun but i wanna try something a little more…dark
So with all that should I still wait or just start one and keep my fingers crossed?
Dark Eldar are not getting killed off. There’s no definitely date in the distance, but we’re supposed to be getting a new codex, ideally after the Space Wolves one. While they did remove the models from the stores, GW continues to sell them online.
(http://www.fightingtigersofveda.com/roarsdeathde.html) “At Games Day Baltimore this year, I attended a Q&A seminar with Andy Chambers, the lead designer behind Warhammer 40K, and he was, of course, asked about the Dark Eldar’s fate. His response was to ask for a show of hands of how many people in the room played Dark Eldar. Many hands shot up, and Andy said something along the lines of, “There’s your answer.” It satisfied me, but you may or may not consider that to be an answer, depending on how you look at it.”
DakkaDakka has a Dark Eldar rumors thread, here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/234173.page
As to your army list, I don’t think DE bikes are really worth the points. They’re fairly expensive for T4 and a 4+ save… The most I’ve used bikes for is a small 3-bike squad with 2 blasters for tank-hunting. Use 10-man Dark Lance squads, and Wyches. Make sure your assaulters have Agonizers.
Wait until GW comes out with the new models.
