Warhammer Squad Command
I have a black templars warhammer 40k army list. But I dunt know how well its gonna work.?
Okay, this is 1 500 points, I have 2, 5 man initiate squads, emperors champion, 3 dreadnoughts with multi meltas, that are being dropped by drop pod. I also have my command squad, where my guys have furious charge, armor save 2+ storm shields. theres 8 guys in there, they all got terminator honors equaling 27 power weapon attacks on the charge. i also have my chaplain and marshal in that squad, with 9 power weapon attacks together, they both have artificer armour confirming their 2 + save. I was wondering how well this would work.
If you play Annihilation, this’ll probably do OK, although investing all those points in three fire-magnets (a.k.a. dreadnoughts) is probably unwise. That said, the new vehicle rules make them more survivable, so it may not be a problem.
However, if you play any other mission, you’re going to struggle with just two, tiny Troop units to work with. For a balanced force I’d strongly recommend:
Drop at least two dreadnoughts and the command squad and replace them with a tooled-up Sword Brethren squad, plus at least one more Initiate squad. With the remaining points you may want to buy yourself a tank or provide your squads with transport vehicles (although this can work against you in Annihilation missions, where each vehicle counts as 1 KP). Alternatively, more Initiate squads aren’t a bad plan.
