Warhammer Orc And Goblin
im starting a new warhammer army what should i choose lizard men or dark elves im just getting the battalion?
i already have a 5 thousand point orc and goblin army but the number of troops i had was desacrated every time by high elves, lizard men, darkelves and tomb kings, i need a strong unit that destroys in both the magic phase and the combat phase thanks:)
You might find that your orc and goblin army will perform better in 8th edition than 7th edition. You are no longer limited by the character slots, so you can fill up on orc and goblin shamans. In 2000 points you can take a level 4 goblin shaman and a level 4 orc shaman Also being effected by fear and terror is no longer such a big weakness for orc and goblins.
In 7th edition I would have said get the dark elf battalion and in 8th edition I still think the dark elf battalion is better than the lizardmen. Cold one knights were one of the best cavalry in the game for the points and repeater crossbows were extremely good and still are.
In 8th edition infantry is more likely to hold from cavalry chargers but I still think cold one knights will be good. Just don’t expect them to break a unit on the turn they charge. Spearmen in large numbers are a very good unit now and corsairs can serve lots of attacks in close combat too.
Dark elf wizards are still excellent spell casters. I suggest you get a hydra too. They are still very good in the close combat phase but now not so good in the shooting phase. It can only shoot the breath weapon once and I suggest you wait till you are in close combat phase before you use it. This will generate some extra hits in the close combat and kill waves of infantry.
