What some good tactics in warhammer fantasy with high elves vs ogres?

As a long-time Ogre player, I can say from experience that there are few ways to stop the Ogres. They are very straight-forward; they cross the board quickly and smash everything in close combat. You should use your superior ranged attacks and magic to whittle down the Ogre numbers before you engage in close combat. Ogres are very costly, and therefore there are fewer of them. Spread your units out and make them come to you. Be sure to position other units to the flanks as you will need all the help you can get when they do get close. You can also try to use a large unit of spearmen to soak up the brunt of an Ogre charge, and (providing they live) you can then charge next turn with chariots and swordsmen. Any item that gives you the capability to cause multiple wounds is going to be a plus, and combined with the High Elves’ ability to strike first in combat, should help give you enough of an edge to take out large blocks of Ogres.
