Warhammer Fantasy or 40K?

I may be getting into one of these games and my question is which is more fun. Also, I have a question on armies, for fantasy I was looking into Dark Elves or Chaos Warriors and for 40K either Chaos Marines or Fallen Angels? Any advice is welcome.

Well, look at several factors:

1.) what are folks playing near you? If everyone is playing 40k instead of Fantasy, then you might not have anyone to send those Dark Elves after.

2.) How many models do you want to build and paint? Fantasy uses ALOT of models, and relies on packed mass formations. 40k relies more on loose squads and finding cover, while the occasional tank will unleash massive pain.

both are going to be expensive, and I wish you the best of luck getting into the tabletop hobby! It really isn’t the same as the computer games, regardless of what some folks will tell you.
