The Basic Tactics of Warhammer 40K
For those who uses the Warhammer 40K can benefit greatly by understand the basic tactics and what can be used with any army. For those who are new players it can take awhile to catch on and how to get things going the way you want them to. Deployment is one of the simplest mistake areas that occur which makes understanding the basics of Warhammer 40k even more important.
Some of the tips may not work with all army lists but will serve as a basic guide which can be used for most. Part of knowing how the rules work is when it’s okay to step outside of the box and break the rules but experience cannot be learned from a document.
The first choice is choosing your army. This is where the basic tactics of Warhammer 40k begins. You can choose whatever army you want and shouldn’t be hesitant by the thoughts that your army needs to be the best of everything. The basic tactics of the Warhammer 40k doesn’t stop there. The deployment stage is next and one of the most important factors in winning a battle. The army lists themselves are not what makes you stand out its knowing what to do with the list that does. You will want to base your selections on what you want your unit to do in the game. Many players choose a specific army because it looks cool but have no clue what they want them to do once they are ready for action. You will quickly become bored of the game if you spend several rounds trying to figure out what your cool army list is supposed to do.
Choose a balanced army is the most effective for game play so try to choose a unit that can control and contain the many aspects of your opponents force. You want to have the ability to destroy armor, counter or launch an assault, create a big blanket of fire that can guarantee casualties on those units that you are unable to assault.
You should never use the same game plan especially based on the success of a unit. You need to make sure that you have not only stationary but mobile elements in your army as well. If you have only have a static army you may be out maneuvered by your opponents and if you are strictly mobile you may rob yourself of the first turn or two in the game by moving too much.
The basic tactics of the Warhammer 40k doesn’t stop there. The deployment stage is next and one of the most important factors in winning a battle. If at any point during the battle you have the ability to control your opponents deployment you already have the upper hand. Many armies are well rounded and extraordinary due to being equally balanced however many fights are lost because of simple mistakes that players make.
