Warhammer 40k Rulebook Mini
What is the most recent edition of Warhammer 40K?
I played 40k back in the 2nd edition days – when there were save modifiers, squats, and a 2000 point army was considered large.
Anyway, is it just 3rd edition rulebook, individual codex(es), apocalypse expansion (optional), and miniatures. Those are the things I’ll need to be able to understand the updated rules and special rules for armies (special characters, unit structure, etc)
And like i said, i have the 2nd edition stuff, codex, rules, but i know they just released another codex for the guard, so i thought i better ask.
I already own a sizable amount of out of production 2nd ed. minis for the imperial guard. some are first edition, i think.
A 2000 point army is still considered large. It’s just not insanely large.
The latest edition of 40k is the 5th Edition. The codexes are gradually being updated, one by one. So far, Chaos, Chaos Daemons, Orks, Eldar, Space Marines and Imperial Guard (as of 6 May 09) have been absolutely updated for 5th Edition. The others are still considered valid for 5th, but suffer from some out-of-date rules that still apply.
To play, you’ll need the rulebook, the relevant codex and an army (and the usual dice, tape measure, templates etc). Imperial Guard have a whole host of brand new models that are bound to attract your attention.
