Warhammer 40k Imperial Guard Stormtroopers
Warhammer 40k question?
As an imperial guard player, i have about 100 foot troops including the platoon leader, Yarrick and 6 heavies. One Hardened Veterans, Bassilisk and Leman Russ. I need an elite of choice, I hate the Stormtroopers (pretty useless expect deep strike), hard to buy Ogryns (Blisters too expensive and hard to buy at once), so should I either buy a ratling, techpriest or Rough Riders( Fastattack). I am usually fighting marines, necrons, tyranids and tau.
Consider Storm Troopers with melta’s & plasma guns as they can infiltrate and pop tanks or infiltrate behind cover to stop a tanks advance- very usefull if you are facing an approaching land raider loaded up with terminators. Never deepstrike as it is to fickle and can scatter killing you. Your list doesn’t seem that mobile from what limited you posted so storm troopers would also allow you to infiltrate to claim objectives. Second choice would be the ratlings as they can also infiltrate, pin, and wound monsterous creatures. They key to when you infiltrate them or your storm troopers is to put them in a place where if they are approached by your opponent you can blast them with you leman russ- might even make a good trap appearing to be out in the open.
