Warhammer 40k Imperial Guard Sentinel

Warhammer 40k Question?
Is this a good imperial guard army?
3 Cadian shock troop squads
1 Heavy weapon squad
2 Sentinels
1 Leman Russ
1 Command Squad
1 Valkyrie
Okay, first question is this; what are you counting the shock troopers as?
If you are counting them as veterans then your list meets requirements for choice selection, if they are normal troops then you ae missing the minimal requirements for troop selection.
Each normal infantry platoon choice needs 1 platoon commander as well as the 1 HQ required normally. To meet minimum requirements you would also need to have 2 troop choices and 1 HQ choice.
I believe its a minimum of 2 normal infantry squads for a choice, with a max of 5 normal squads, 3 HW squads, and up to 50 conscripts and 1 platoon commander.
So, fix your minimum requirements before finalizing a list first of all.
Secondly, it seems like you are trying to go for an all purpose army.
I personally run:
1 Command Squad with master vox. (1HQ)
Troops:
3x Infantry squads with 3x vox, 3x flamer, 3x HW(depends on opponent Heavy Bolters for orks/nids and Autocannon for light armor armies).
1 Platoon HQ(1 Troop Choice)
3x Infantry squads with 3x vox, 3x grenade launcher, 3x HW(again depends on opponent).
1 Platoon HQ(2nd Troop Choice)
2x Banewolf (1 fast attack choice, or two fast attack choices if I split them up before a game)
1 Basilisk(1 Heavy Support Choice)
1 Leman Russ Vanquisher with Pask, Plasma Cannon Sponsons, Lascannon Hull.(2nd Heavy support choice)
2x 10 man Stormtrooper squads with 2 meltaguns and 2 plasma guns.(2 elite choices).
Most of my army is a defensive army with some striking capabilities in the form of the two storm trooper squads.
The basilisk is a monster with indirect and direct fire capabilities along with a great attack range. The vanquisher with a pask upgrade is anti anything remotely tank-like. If it sits still the special rules for pask apply to the vanquisher cannon and gives me a maximum of 21 for armor damage rolls and +1 to the vehicle damage chart, and with a 72″ range I love it.
Overall though, your list was very limited in description. You have two sentinels that are armed with what exactly? Also, the Leman Russ has no other weapons listed and the HW team has no weapons listed.
If you want a really good answer, we need to see the exact loadout for each unit, and a nice listing of the choices you are using up with each unit.
