Which is the highest status job – business consulting industry jobs rank above the rest. It is an extremely competitive market to break into – but the rewards are a work experience and learning curve that is unsurpassable by any other industry. Your career experience is both broadened and deepened as you work on the biggest problems that industries are facing at the time.
It’s a dream job for many. But how do you get a job in this industry when it is so much in demand?
It isn’t difficult – you need to focus on what they are looking for – what they need. Those areas in demand now need to become reflected in your career and job experience – take on jobs and tasks that fit with them.
Here are some tips on how to go about this.
1. The business consulting market has many drivers – find them: Do this by using web research to find the very best asia consulting industry information – then sift through to find the most objective. Your goals are:
A) Learn what a consultant does typically from day to day. Understand the nature of the job. Best approach is to go and interview some consultants in the firms you are interested in.

Look at the array of growth service lines in a strategy consulting market firm and become the best interviewee by having the relevant skillsets. Which clients are talking about projects with strategy consulting market companies at the moment? Guess what, the areas the consulting firms publish research and white papers on are the areas they are growing in typically. It’s really not hard to find these.
3. Mirror the needs of the consulting firms: Now that you have identified some growth areas how can you mirror the skills in talent that they are looking for. What electives can you pursue that are relevant? Search out opportunities while you are still at school to get experience or learn – even if not paid they will pay off later? When it comes down to it, your objective is to do nothing else but these things. The needs of the strategy consulting market firm will be directly shown in every item of your resume. If you are unable to get a job in consulting when you graduate from school you should get a job in a relevant skill area. Then later it will be easy to jump into consulting with a CV that fits exactly the consulting firms’ needs.
4. Final touch – academic scores: Unfortunately the reality is that competition is tough out of undergraduate so make sure you get the best possible grades. The best student amongst your classmates gets the advantage. Focus. Work hard. This is like building an asset for your whole future – don’t neglect this process, put the time in and get the rewards.
