For Star Wars fans, when did the “Star Wars: Clone Wars” movie take place during the show?
Did the Clone Wars movie that came out in 2008 happen before or after Season One of the show?
The movie was set before the TV show … in essence the movie served as the “pilot” episode of the TV show.
There is one anomaly with season one of the show however. Episode 16 of season one, titled “The Hidden Enemy” is actually set just before the events of the movie. There has been no reason/explanation for this by the “continuity police” at LucasFilms as of yet and I doubt we will get one before the show ends its run sometime in the future … if ever. Since the show is the highest rated show on The Cartoon Network for the last two years it’s a safe bet to think that, if they keep the story “fresh”, the series could continue on for a number of years to come.
If you already know about this feel free to smack me up side the head but there was another Clone Wars animated show. It was called “Clone Wars Micro Series” and it aired on The Cartoon Network in late 2003 & summer of 2004 during the run up to the release of ep III. The current show is NOT a remake of the Micro Series. Rather it is a addition to it. The Micro Series consisted of 2 Volumes of 25 five or ten minute “chapters”. Volume 1 consisted or 20 “chapters” and Volume 2 had 5 “chapters”. The following is an outline of how these two shows fit in with the movie time line:

The current TV show and movie MUST be set after chapter 21 of the Micro Series because in the current TV show Anakin is a Jedi Knight not a padawan. The current show MUST end before chapter 25 of the Micro Series because ep III picks up right where chapter 25 ends.
