Star Wars Stickers For Car
Giving other treats for Halloween?
Anyone plan to give out something to trick-or-treaters instead of candy? I stopped giving out candy a few years ago, opting to hand out little toys, pencils, collector cards, stickers and such. I look for popular characters such as Disney Princesses, Nemo, Sponge Bob, etc. I got this idea after I found myself saving collector cards from box panels. I don’t usually collect them for myself, but I don’t want to throw them away. I figured there must be a way to get them to kids who may want them (I have none of my own), and it occurred to me that Halloween was perfect for this.
I’m curious if anyone else has ever tried this idea?
Incidentally, I let each child see what I have and let them pick what they want. One year, I found a “Star Wars” collector card (of Yoda) on a box of Kudos, and one boy was eager to have it. Last year pencils, collector card and toys from “Cars” (from a box of cereal) were very popular among the kids who came to my door.
I’ve seen quite a few people give out things like that instead of candy, it’s definitely a good idea. I might give out mini glow sticks if I can find them, along with candy.
