Star Wars: The Old Republic and is a new approach to online entertainment. The timing of the story dates back to time of Anakin and Luke Skywalker. The known galaxy is about 100,000 light years in diameter. It contains billions of star systems. In this star system, it is believed that there are more than one million inhabited worlds. Some of these worlds are still not known. At present many planetary systems have been analysed and the future of the galaxy will be decided.
Below is a brief description about the planets.
Alderaan: Alderaan’s nobility has been at the political front since the Republic’s inception. This planet stands in the Senate for peace, freedom and unity. To some extent if Coruscant is said to be the heart of the republic the Alderaan has been its soul. After the aftermath of the Treaty of Coruscant, Alderaan backed out from the Republic and became embroiled in one of the civil wars in the history of galaxy wars. Thus the future of this planet is in doubt.
Balmorra: Balmorra is one of the places where peace has been promised by the Treaty of Coruscant. This is fiercely independent planet. After a long time ally of the Republic it has led the galaxy in manufacturing weapons. Under the influence of Imperial occupation force the Balmorra workers live and suffer. Now the Sith empire is showing their presence on the planet and hence this will put an end to the problems there.
Belsavis: Belsavis remained an unknown planet for many years. It was on the arrival of the Imperials that this planet came, the Empire was discovered.
Corellia: Corellia is a symbol of freedom and is one of the most business centers in the galaxy. It is also the birthplace of many Republic economic, political and military leaders. The capital of this place is Coronet city and it is a model of a good industry.
Coruscant: Coruscant’s gleaming towers shows its power and prosperity in the Republic civilization. The strength of the coruscant lies in its people and not in its structures and systems.
Dromund Kass: This is a jungle remote area and the Sith have spent thousand years to build their mighty war machine to prepare for an assault on the Galaxy.
Hoth: Hoth is one of the most remote and lifeless planets in the galaxy. It became the site of a devastating military defeat and hence it had no interest in the Republic.
Iium: This is a small frigid world at the edge of the galaxy and it has untapped resources at most unexpected places.
Korriban: Inspite of inhospitable climate the sith lived on this red and dusty planet.
Hutta: Hutta means Glorious Jewel and this planet is usually known as Nal Hutta. The planet is a living nightmare and parents threaten to send their children to this planet if they misbehave.
Nar Shaddaa: This is one of the dangerous places in the galaxy.
Ord Mantell: The volcanic islands and the mountainous plains of this planet are cluttered with the destructive and pitiless civil war.
There are other planets like Quesh, Taris, Tatooine, Tythoon and Voss. Each planet has its own significance in the galaxy.
