Prepare For Star Wars 3-D In 2012
There was a good disturbance within the Force. It has been announced that there will be a “Star Wars 3D” run in movie theaters. This is not a hoax. Every film in the series is going to be reformatted into 3-dimensional digital. The first film should be released in theaters in the year 2012. The story determines the order. The original trilogy, or the “Holy Trilogy” to some, could be the final releases as the first can be “Episode 1″.
It’s nearly time to view ‘Star Wars’ in 3-dimensional movie
Hollywood has exploded with three dimensional films, or rather giving the illusion of three dimensions. The biggest hits in the last few years are “Avatar” and “Clash of the Titans.” These were both released in two dimensions and three dimensions. Now that the technology is accessible, George Lucas and Industrial Light and Magic have decided to give “Star Wars” the 3-d treatment. According to The Telegraph, Lucas film insists that it will not be a rush job. Every detail in the series can be turned 3-dimensional. This is going to improve the overall quality of all of the films.
Very first in 2012
The first “Star Wars 3-D” movie can be released as “Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.” The series is going to be launched in chronological order. That is new to some. A release date is the big question. There is no exact date at present. A release date in 2012 is the goal so far. According to The Hollywood Reporter, George Lucas had not been confident yet of the merits of current 3-d engineering. After he saw “Avatar,” he decided to make the change. The length between releases has not been figured out. Nobody has said anything about it.
Making sure theaters have the technology
Theaters need to get up to date. Too most are still lagging with only 2-D projections. However, 500 are adding 3-D capable projectors per year. More films are being released in 3-D meaning more theaters are trying to get it. It isn’t known whether “Indiana Jones” or the “Clone Wars” DVD series will get 3-dimensional updates for theatrical release.

Cloning Terror: The War of Images, 9/11 to the Present $22.5 The  phrase “War on Terror” has quietly been retired from official usage, but it persists in the American psyche, and our understanding of it is hardly complete. Nor will it be, W. J. T Mitchell argues, without a grasp of the images that it spawned, and that spawned it.Exploring the role of verbal and visual images in the War on Terror, Mitchell finds a conflict whose shaky metaphoric and imaginary conception has created its own reality. At the same time, Mitchell locates in the concept of clones and cloning an anxiety about new forms of image-making that has amplified the political effects of the War on Terror. Cloning and terror, he argues, share an uncanny structural resemblance, shuttling back and forth between imaginary and real, metaphoric and literal manifestations. In Mitchell’s startling analysis, cloning terror emerges as the inevitable metaphor for the way in which the War on Terror has not only helped recruit more fighters to the jihadist cause but undermined the American constitution with “faith-based” foreign and domestic policies.Bringing together the hooded prisoners of Abu Ghraib with the cloned stormtroopers of the Star Wars saga, Mitchell draws attention to the figures of faceless anonymity that stalk the ever-shifting and unlocatable “fronts” of the War on Terror. A striking new investigation of the role of images from our foremost scholar of iconology, Cloning Terror will expand our understanding of the visual legacy of a new kind of war and reframe our understanding of contemporary biopower and biopolitics. |
