My Top Three Star Wars Characters
Are you a fan of some of the great characters in the Star Wars movies? Do you find it difficult to pick a favorite? There are the handsome ones such as Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, the pretty ones such as Princess Leia and Queen Amidala, the wise ones such as Yoda and Obi Wan Kenobi and the evil ones such as Darth Vader. Then, there are the downright funny ones such as R2D2, C-3P0, Jar Jar Binks, Chewbacca and Jabba the Hut.
Everyone who loves the Star Wars movies will have their own top three list, and could argue their case until the end of time. Nevertheless, I’m going to tell you about my own three favorite characters. It wasn’t easy to pick from all my favorites.
1. Yoda
Possibly the strangest character in Star Wars is Yoda. He doesn’t look much but looks can be very deceiving. Yoda turns out to be one of the most powerful Jedi Masters who is known for his mastery of the Force, skills with the light sabre and of course, his legendary wisdom. In this respect, the character of Yoda teaches us not to judge a book by its cover. For example, in The Empire Strikes back Luke Skywalker is sent to Yoda for training. He rashly judges Yoda by his appearance and his strange behavior. His view of Yoda is turned totally upside down when he discovers he is a Jedi Master. Yoga is in fact a great teacher and Luke progresses rapidly in his knowledge of the Force and how to use it with wisdom. In fact, it is all neatly summed up when Yoda states “Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is….”
2. Han Solo
If you asked any woman who their favorite character from Star Wars is, then I bet they would say Han Solo, of course. Played by the wonderful Harrison Ford, he was one cool character. Han Solo is just an ordinary but courageous man. He doesn’t have Jedi powers like Luke. Han starts out as a sarcastic mercenary but ends up as a hero fighting for the greater good. As Han changes his outlook to become less selfish and more altruistic, he is able to win the affections of Princess Leia.
3. Princess Leia
I love Princess Leia. She has many great qualities. Not only is she beautiful but she is very dedicated and compassionate. She has positive qualities that any young woman would do well to emulate. You may be surprised to know that, like her twin brother Luke, she learned some ways of using the Force. In fact, she became very capable Jedi knight herself and was very skilled in the use of the light sabre? Probably, one of the most memorable things about Leia, especially for all the men in the world, is her metal bikini, also known as her slave costume.
