Experienced Cryptic Studios is currently in the process of completing his work on Star Trek Online – a large, massive online games, to be out in stores in February next year. The well-known sto credits saga has millions of fans worldwide, and it is largely these Star Trek Online will try to capture to be a part of their player base. The content is very similar to what you find in the famous TV series, where the action takes place both on the ground and in outer space. We got a look at the upcoming massive online game in Stockholm, where developers from Cryptic first gave us a brief presentation of the game, so we got to test it with their own hands and finally interviewing producer Andy Velasquez.
Hopeful presentation
In his presentation of the game explained to Velasquez that Star Trek Online is in “the prime time line, and not in the alternate timeline where the latest Star Trek movie was. The game focuses on a time that exists a few years after all the movies and TV series, so that Star Trek Online is the tool that brings the very latest information on the development of this popular science fiction universe.
So he took for some of the basic elements of the game. Star Trek Online has two playable groups. One is the Klingon Empire and the other is the Federation. These are at war with each other.
All players are captains of Star Trek Online. This choice was made so that everyone would have an equally interesting game experience that offered a variety of challenges. The game’s content is largely something they call the episode-based. Where missions, both taking place in space and on planets surface just like most TV episodes did. In space controls a spaceship and the players on the ground controls the character of his, that either bring their own team or form a group with other players. Both game types are the primary battle, but also offers some other types of trials. All the players can control the spacecraft in space is large vessels with a lot of people on board. Spacecraft behavior and properties will be familiar to those who have seen the TV series. They have gas (throttle), shields and weapons torpedoes and phases and lots of other possibilities. If you are fought in space, you lose your ship is not permanent. You lose some of your crew and have to repair some parts, but you do not lose the entire ship for the developer said was too harsh a punishment. It is the player who is captain of the ship, but you can have with you other officers to help you in battle. On the ground, you also have lots of different abilities to choose between fighting and you can carry different weapons and equipment. The computerized people you bring will automatically use their abilities and fight alongside you as best they can, but you can override them and let them do whatever you want. When it comes to tools to create characters offers this in bulk opportunities. Here, players can choose to play one of the many races from the Star Trek universe, or create their own brand new romrase. All breeds have their own features and bonuses, and if you make your own so you can choose these people.
A functional test
When I finally got to try Star Trek Online itself, it was a training I got to test. I made myself a character, ran around inside a spaceship and got to see basic things like conversations, quests and combat. Then I choose my two officers before it carried into space with my own ship.
Now I flew around in the cold room and made the assignment because I heard them from the rest of the fleet. I saved people from the damaged ship, and so I flew into battle. I was a man, and my enemies were castles.
I learned how best to use the ship’s stages, by making a broadside against the enemy to shoot the guns that were located front and rear simultaneously. I learned maneuvering and all the opportunities I had to steer my ship around in the three-dimensional gaming environment.
I alternated between flying very slowly, while I always tried to position my best to shoot off my opponent’s arms before I torpederte them. It was not long before I had down on a moon to fight against the creepy castles there as well.
Here I got me a sidekick and I was developing my character something to go up a level of experience and get some new abilities. Now the time was ripe to run around and kill enemies, and do assignments for my side in the war. They went on to help the civilians to take out a signal tower.
I had not tested the game very long, but I got to see much of what it had to offer in terms of graphics, animation wise, and its gameplay and user interface. I also tested the game on both the ground and in space pretty much, so I got a good overview of some of what the finished version of Star Trek Online will contain.
