Star Trek Series Blu Ray
When are they going to come out with Blu Ray versions of Star Trek series?
I was wondering when if ever they will come out with Blu Ray editions of Star Trek NG, DS9,Voyager, and Enterprise?
Also, will they ever make Blu Ray editions of the Star Gate SG1, and Atlantis? Also Blu Ray edition of Babylon 5 series?
I’m not sure if they ever will. It all depends on whether or not blue-ray takes off like DVDs did, making it our typical media form.
And even then, to quote William Shatner’s version of Elton John’s Rocket Man “It’s gonna be a long long time.”
Since Star Trek NG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise were all viewed as low rated and not nearly as popular as TOS or TNG, companies owning the rights to the shows and investing in the release and restoration of tv shows and movies being released on blue-ray will probably not want to waste the money needed to release them on blue-ray. The money would be better invested in another movie or series that was much more popular.
The Original Series is available on blue-ray currently along with the series movies.
If any of the series you listed would be released on blue-ray, I would say it would be Voyager, as it was the least unpopular.
It is very likely you will be seeing at least one or multiple seasons of Star Gate and Babylon 5 as those are very popular sci-fi series that have large fan bases. I’m not too sure about Atlantis, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
