star trek iv blu-ray
Are all the Star Trek Movies coming to Blu-Ray?

I want to know, if I buy Star trek II, III, IV and IV in their fantastic single DVD packaging for the new blu-ray release, will they bring out I and V by themselves (separately) or in order to get all 6 original films on blu-ray do I need to buy the whole collection box. (I want them in proper blu-ray boxes not the slim things u get with the complete box) please help
Its annoying because I and V haven’t been announced to be released on blu-ray as single films
i like blu-ray

Don’t count on it … for all intents and purposes Blu-Ray is a dead format. The only reason it is still being pushed is because Sony is hell bent on keeping it around because of the tie-in to the PS3 … they’ve even went to the extremes of signing almost every major porn outlet to exclusive Blu-Ray contracts. Now I’m not a prude or anything but if this doesn’t show desperation I don’t know what would.

Don’t get me wrong … it is a great format but it has the disadvantage of needing entirely new systems to see the advantages … If the world wide economy picks up at the end of the year like was predicted yesterday by “Bennie” then it may have a chance otherwise I see my Blu-Ray player being put back in its box and being put in the closet right next to my beta-max player.

I know that’s not an answer to your question so in that respect all I’ve heard about it is about the same as the others have said … probably single shot disks. I can tell you that Lucas has no intentions of putting the 6 movie Star Wars saga out on Blu-Ray anytime in the near future. Rumors abound about the planned 2012 “Super” set but nothing substantial to those rumors as of yet.

May The Force Be With You … and …

Live Long And Prosper …
