Need help with a video card upgrade?
I have a Dell Insperion 531s and wanting to upgrade my video card. It currently has an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro. I’m looking to upgrade to something better without breaking the bank nor having ot upgrade anything else such as the PSU.
Anyone have any suggestions? No, I don’t care if it’s ATI or NVIDIA
Note: I’m looking to play Champions Online and, when it comes out, Star Trek Online which both use the same engine.
Dell.com lists your computer’s power supply at 250 watts. I hate to tell you this, but you are pretty much going to HAVE to upgrade that to get a worthwhile video card.
Even something fairly mainstream like a GeForce 9600GT needs at least 350 watts.
I am personally unaware of any video card that I would recommend buying that can run on 250 watt or less power supplies.
