Best Films for High definition Disc
Because the Blu-ray has become available, a huge question presents itself to dvd afficianados, wholesale dvd sellers, critics all who is into movies. Because the Blu-ray is a hi def item, the visual images it makes available are better than the older disc format. Yet not every ordinary film is worthy of HD, is that not so? So the issue is: which films are worth being immortalized by being transferred to Hi-Def disc. Here are just four preliminary choices, selected from dvd wholesalers’ top seller lists, personal choices and historic importance.
Star Trek. Positvely, all of Star Trek merits Blu-ray honors. Of course, the original six of the flicksare already available from wholesale dvd websites and in shops. This film set wins on these two bases: the photography are extraordinary, even in the earlier movies, and the position of Star Trek among the cult favorites of any era makes it deserving of its status.
The classic: Gone with the Wind. Do not quibble. Sure, it is old and dvd wholesalers likely hardly ever ship many discs of this motion picture. But it is a well-respected veteran, with a sweep and sets that in its day were nothing short of incredible. Converted to new high definition, the atmospherics like the demise of Tara are unbeatable.
2001. Seriously, you cannot even try to beat this old film at innovation and spectacular camera work. The planets never looked quite so good as in this film and the high definition disc has become a great seller for dvd wholesale and retail sellers. You should run right out and buy it from your favorite dvd wholesaler.
Sleeping Beauty. Okay, we had to have one for tots, with a more laid back approach but images just as luxurious and entrancing as any. This picture is still an adventure and the difficult quests of the hero are as exhilarating to kid’s tastes as any action motion picture made. The attractiveness of Walt Disney’s cartooning really comes through in the hd version of this precious old chestnut.
Stay tuned for more top picks for “Blu-ray worthy” discs.

Star Trek Original Season 1 – Used $49.99 Going boldly where no man had gone before, Gene Roddenberry's cult phenomenon STAR TREK debuted in 1966 and reflected that decade's optimistic preoccupation with space travel. Set in the 23rd century, the series chronicled the intergalactic adventures of the U.S.S. Enterprise on its five-year mission to explore the outer reaches of space. Encountering a now-iconic assembly of innovative alien life forms such as the Klingons, Romulans, Tribbles, and Khan Noonian Singh, the ship's jumpsuited crew was a then unheard-of font of multiculturism: Asian Sulu (George Takei), African-American Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and Scotsman Montgomery Scott (James Doohan). But it was the contrasting personalities of cooly logical Vulcan Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), emotionally intuitive medical officer Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley), and womanizing ship captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner in definitive overacting mode) that lent the series much of its charm–and spawned a rabid cult following that continues to fuel costume sales and convention bookings to this very day. This collection includes all 28 episodes of the series' debut season. Beam me up, Scotty! |
