what is an expensive ogre in dungeons and dragons games?
A number of dungeons and dragons games use a character called an “expensive ogre”
I need to know in detail what the character’s role is in the different games – this is to solve a riddle that is pretty important to resolve..

Please note that I know all about Dylan Thomas’s use of the term “expensive ogre” in his poem No War On Words.. so I am not asking about that unless it is relevant in the dungeons and dragons world
I’ve been playing RPGs in general and D&D in particular for over 30 years and I have to admit I’ve never heard the term before. I’m not familiar with the Thomas poem in question either, but I’d suspect that whatever the context it’s being used in RPGs, chances are it’s done in similar context as its usage in the poem.
