Necrons Warhammer 40k

warhammer 40k race?
are necrons good for beginners?
i was about to choose daemonhunters , but then i found out that they were with spacemariens and my problem with that is that i need spacemarien stuff for the daemonhunters and my friend hase spacemariens but i dont reallywant to copy him.
but i heard necrons are good.my problem with them is that they are zombie things and they dont look so strong in armour.
im looking for an army like chaos because they look badass!!!!and they look so brutal and they have cool machien firepower.
so who should i go for?
Well, first of all Daemonhunters are only space marines if you want them to be. Taking Grey Knights as choices in a Daemonhunters army is strictly optional. You can still have a “pure” DH army and take only Inquisitorial Storm Troopers as Troops choices. Or, you could exercise your rights as an Inquisitor and demand inducted Imperial Guard.
However, Necrons, as it happens, are quite a good army for beginners. For a start, they’re easy to paint. Spray black. Dry-brush silver. Paint the base. Doesn’t get any easier than that, seriously.
In addition, they are often referred to as MEqs (Marine Equivalents) because they have the same WS, BS, S, T and 3+ save and their weapons are S4 AP5.
They have a rather low Initiative, so don’t fare well in combat, but they also have that invaluable “We’ll Be Back” rule that means that incautious or inexpert play isn’t too heavily penalized. At the same time, though, the “Phase Out” rule means that games can end rather abruptly. Being Fearless, though, at least means that they won’t run from trouble.
That said, Necrons are rather funny looking buggers. Which is why I’m converting all of mine to look rather more threatening. I don’t recommend this for beginners as, for a start, is a hell of a lot of very fiddly work, but I am rather impressed with the results, so there’s a link below to where you can see how my converted Necrons look.
If you like the hot and spiky look of Chaos, though, and don’t want to do Space Marines, why not check out the Witch Hunters?
