Starcraft 2 Brood Lord Guide – The Best Strategies, Counters, Rushes And Build Orders For The Broodlord Unit In SC2

A Little About Brood Lords
You can use Brood Lords, but they are going to be expensive and lengthy. You have to have a Hive first, and then you can create your Greater Spire which will allow you to produce these wonderful flying beasts.
Brood Lords are great against ground units, but you have to shield them against air units or they will quickly be detsroyed.
What Brood Lords are Good Against
Brood Lords are great against ground units, and they are pretty much capable of dominating any of the ones that your enemies are sending towards you. You should micromanage them a bit even still just to make sure that you don’t have unnecessary losses on the battlefield.
Counters to Brood Lords
Some counters to Brood Lords include any of the other flying units that are anti-air. This includes Vikings, Thors, and some other similar units that can really put a dent in your flight. Mutalisks are bad too, so it makes sense for your Brood Lords to be flying with Mutalisks so that they can help defend against incoming air danger.
A Sample Build Order for Brood Lords
You need to be really advanced to build Brood Lords, because you have to have the Hive technology researched before you can transform your Spires into Greater Spires.
You should start off by making the standard units, and then produce some Drones at the beginning.
At around 9/10 Supply you should get an Overlord and then keep on pumping out Drones. Once they are around 13 or 14 supply you should start gathering gas, and three or four Drones on gas will really be efficient throughout the rest of the mid game. You should also get a Spawning Pool up as fast as possible, too.
Then you should research the Lair technology and continue to pump out Drones.
By this time you may need to defend, so you should really think about having Queens and Zerglings out whenever you can. You should probably drop a Roach or Baneling nest so that you have options, but you need to have a Queen’s Nest as well. Once that’s done you can research the Hive technology and your Greater Spire technology will become available.
Rushing With Brood Lords
Then you can research your Brood Lords technology and start pumping them out. Sending them to your enemy’s ground lines will really prove to be pretty useful, but make sure to have some Mutalisks near by in case they send in some anti-air units your way.
Finding out their economic points and finding out where they have some exposed ground units is very important, so scouting is a must. You can use some fast Zerglings and/or Mutalisks to really figure out where you should send your Brood Lords, and then go in to dominate.
