lord of the rings trilogy extended
Do Frodo and Legolas ever have any actual dialog in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy?

It may be just me, but it seems that Legolas and Frodo never actually converse with each other in the trilogy. Tell me if I’m wrong or if they talk in the extended versions of the movies.
Sorry, I meant dialogue.

Not that I can recall.
Although when talking about him, Legolas does say Frodo at least once, whereas Frodo never says Legolas, even at the end of ROTK when he calls out everyone (or most of everyone’s) names except Legolas, I always laugh because he just never says his name!

Howard Shore’s music for the massively successful first film chapter of Tolkien’s Ring saga won him the Oscar® for Best Original Score, something of a surprise given the music’s ambitious scale and determinedly dark overtones, factors that handily blurred the line between typical film fantasy music and accomplished concert work. Its sequel takes the same, often Wagnerian-scaled dramatic tack, fol…

Shy Leopardess [The Neustrian Cycle #3]

Shy Leopardess [The Neustrian Cycle #3]

$4.99

The Last and Best of the Neustrian Books! In this highly-acclaimed fantasy classic and sequel to Gerfalcon and Joris of the Rock, a young woman comes into her own and finds true amidst danger, intrigue, and war. You’ll find impeccable writing, rich characterization, an uncommon complexity of detail, and scenes as thrilling as any in fantasy literature. “Away beyond the bulk of steel, a brush-tipped tail was waving–huge claws, fully extended, furrowed the smooth sand. The red cavern of a mouth had shut and was opening again. Four deadly corner-fangs, like white pickaxe-blades, ridged grinders ranked behind, a curling tongue like a flat, flayed serpent–a brown chin-tuft brushing the ground–another roar that filled the world? The great shape rose and blotted out the sunlight, Lioncel was already whirling the axe, and flung it hard and true. The roar was twisted to a scream as he ripped out the short sword. Then he was shocked and overborne, crusted and banged and battered; great claws screeched on metal, a hot stink blasted into his helm, and he saw the lion’s palate, ridged like a red tidal beach, above him.” Filled with the same kind of poetry and song that helped make The Lord of the Rings famous, the Neustrian Cycle is one of fantasy’s most beloved works. Mithradates call it “Head-and-shoulders above any writing marketed as ‘fantasy’ today. I am nearing the end of the entire trilogy, and regretting that end is near. The next rereading will not be very far in the future.”

The Critical Practice of Film: An Introduction

The Critical Practice of Film introduces film studies and production through the integration of criticism, theory and practice. Its approach is that of critical practice, a process that explores the integration and intersection between the critical analysis of films and the practical aspects of filmmaking. In other words, this book is both an introduction to the ways in which we watch films,as well as an introduction to how films are created – the more you know about how films are made, the more you can appreciate the artistry involved in a film. Author Elspeth kydd combines explorations of basic technical and aesthetic principles with extended analyses drawn from both classic and contemporary Hollywood and other world cinemas, including Battleship Potemkin (1927), Un Chien andalou (1929), Stagecoach (1939), Mildred Pierce (1945), Notorious (1946), Letter from an Unknown Woman (1948), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), Breathless (1959), Memories of Underdevelopment (1968), Star Wars (1977), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Distant Voices, Still Lives (1988), The Matrix (1999), Amores Perros (2000), Gosford Park (2001) and The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–3).
