Lord Of The Rings Goblets

What is your favourite movie sequel?
My favourite sequels are as follows:
Toy Story 3
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (Sequel to the Star Wars Prequels)
Shrek 2
Spider-Man 2
The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Toy Story 2
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Aliens
Lord of the Rings didn’t have any sequels. That would imply that the first movie told an entire story and each of it’s successors told a complete story on their own. That’s what a trilogy is.
Lord of the Rings, on the other hand, told ONE story. It just took three movies to tell it. NOT a trilogy. The parts cannot be taken individually or out of order.
Now, as to your question: As a general rule, I’m not a fan of sequels. Pretty much I usually want hollywood to leave it alone and let the great movie stand on it’s own. However, I do have a couple of exceptions to that rule; Boondock Saints 2 (almost as good as the first), Iron Man 2 (on par with the first), Indiana is definitely on there, and last crusade is my favorite of the trilogy (the newest one doesn’t exist in my brain…again, leave it the hell alone….), Toy Story 2 and 3, Pirates were all good. And I think that concludes my list. Not very long. But I’m not a huge fan of sequels.
