Lord Of The Rings Animated Dvd

What Anime is a complete phenomenon?
No Anime flamers, bashers or haters please (if you don’t like Anime tell me sincerely and be respectful of those who do)! Lord of the Rings was the ultimate phenomenon on the movies all across the world! The king of the box office it is now! Titanic was only a phenomenon for the female factor, shortly a box office champion! Revenge of the Sith was only a phenomenon on the behalf of the male facor, not many compliments! However I’d like to know what Anime was such a success on the silver screen, on DVD and video and in Manga that it was a king in the animation world! Plenty of Animes like Advent Children (forget Spirits Within!), Spirited Away, Dragon Ball Z, Inu Yasha, Akira, Naruto and Samurai X were animated successes but only one is a total recognition that even non-Anime fans will love it!
In mid 90s, most people were introduced to anime by Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon. But a lot of people became “hardcore” anime fans after watching Evangelion which proved anime can be serious too. Evangelion is possibly the most controversial anime of all time. Of course there are many other anime shows that influenced the fans but I feel Evangelion had the biggest impact, literally a complete phenomenon.
As for theatrical movies, Akira in 80s and Princess Mononoke in 90s.
