Codex Warhammer 40k

Space Wolves of Warhammer 40k
The Space Wolves are one of the first founding space marine legions in the table top game called Warhammer 40,000 or what is commonly known as the Warhammer 40K. It is a miniature war game that was produced by Games Workshop and is set in a fictional futuristic universe. The game’s popularity has led to various expansions since it was first released in 1987, with the latest expansion published in 2008.
The games are held between two or more players where each player assembles miniature figures that represent soldiers, war vehicles and other creatures. These figures are played on handmade or purchased terrains and players decide on a scenario such as simple skirmishes to battles that involve defending objectives and reinforcements.
History
The Space Wolves were originally led by their Primarch Leman Russ. Russ grew up in Fenris, a distant death world that is covered in snow and is inhabited by warlike and primitive humans. He was raised by a pack of Fenrisian wolves, but was later on discovered by the king of the Russ, a man named Thengir when Leman’s wolf pack was raided and most of the wolves were captured or slaughtered. Thengir adopted him and gave him his name, Leman of the Russ.
When Thengir died, the leadership of the Russ was immediately transferred to Leman and he became a mighty leader who won many battles for his adopted people. These battles were often fought together with a pack of Fernisian wolves who had escaped the hunters many years ago.
Leman of the Russ became the commander of the VI Space Marine Legion after fighting a battle with the emperor of Humankind. At first, he refused to pay homage to the emperor and challenged him a battle of eating, drinking, and a fist fight. Leman won the first two battles but lost the third battle as this was more of the emperor’s forte. Leman was defeated when the emperor launched his power fist that knocked him out. He then admitted to his defeat and pledged allegiance to the emperor.
Leman Russ gained the reputation of a fierce and cunning warrior when he led a battle during the Great Crusade. The Space Wolves strongly resisted the command of the imperium and instead of organizing themselves as a tactical squad; they organized as packs and refused the commands of Codex Astartes which was created by the Primarch of the ultramarines, Roboute Guilliman. Amid all their resistance, the Space Wolves are known for their ferocity in battle with the use of their own style of warfare.
