How can i switch my xbox 360 controller x axes?
Most games don’t have an option for turning with the left thumbstick and strafing with the right thumbstick. And most of the games that do, do so by completely switching the function of the thumbsticks. Basically I want to move forward and backward and turn with the left, and look up an down and strafe with the right. So if I could modify or reprogram a controller to switch the x axes only and not the y axes I would be good to go. If anybody knows if this is possible or if there is a better way please let me know.
(Major games like halo and call of duty allow it in what they call legacy controls but other games have legacy controls that don’t incorporate this change. Quite frankly I’m surprised more people aren’t inconvenienced by this.)
This is left to the game software. So if a particular game doesn’t allow advance controller remapping features like you want you will not be able to achieve them with a standard controller. Even the profile settings like “invert y-axis” are just suggestions that the console will make to games that support them. There is no global override in the console to change the control scheme.
