My top choice for the best WoW professions for earning gold is Mining. There many uses for the ores and jewels you get from mining. They sell quickly and for a great profit. Once I start a new character, I always start them off with Mining. I have paired it with most other professions, and have always had success.
When I am leveling a profession such as blacksmithing or Jewelcrafting, I sell half of what I mine, and use the other half. This may slow down the leveling of the other profession. However, the money I make doing this far surpasses the inconvenience to leveling the other profession.
Get the largest bags you can afford to start with. Fill those bags up and immediately put everything you collected on the auction house. By the time you fill up your bags again, you should have made your first sales. I have even had times I put up auctions, and it sold before I could even run to the mailbox.
It does take a little time for the system to send you the money. However, you usually get a message in your mailbox as soon as the item sells.
Skinning
My second choice for making money with professions is Skinning. Pairing this with Mining, This is one of the best WoW professions because of the convenience. I can level this as I grind experience points. This saves a lot of time running around, and then going back over the same areas to level my craft skills.
Once again, if I am just out to make money, I sell all the leathers I collect on the auction house. Even those ruined scraps can bring you in a heap of cash. Leatherworkers can use these to make good leather for their crafting, but it takes a lot of scraps to make good leather.
Fishing
One of the best WoW professions for earning gold is Fishing. It is a tedious job to level fishing, but the rewards can be great. The best way to do this is fish up several stacks of fish then sell them on the auction house. They can be used for many
reasons, so they will sell well. Fish are used in cooking, Hunters use it for pet food, and some fish are even used in alchemy.
I always suggest people to research something before they try it. Go to the auction house to see what is selling. This will show you which ores to focus on, whether or not to smelt your ores first, which fish to catch for the best profit, what leathers can be sold, and how fast items seem to be selling.
