Battalion Warhammer
What is in a warhammer army ( e.g. General, Commander, etc.)?
I’m confused how to layout my army and i’m not sure how the ranks work. for example who is the overal leader of the army, it it a lord or a king. Also then who controls all my other battalions ( e.g. a General or Commander)
You’ve lost me.
You, the player, are the overall commander of your army. You can call yourself whatever you like.
However, your army also needs to have a “General”. This the model with the highest Leadership (Ld) in the army – or the model of your choice if you have several with the same highest leaderhip.
In a Warhammer army, the general will usually be a Lord in armies of 2000 points or more, or a Hero in armies of less than 2000 points (although there are some exceptions that allow a Lord in smaller armies). “Lord” and “Hero” are categories of unit used to control the composition of armies rather than actual ranks. Whether a Lord is a Grand Master of a Knightly Order or the Priest-Mage of a lost civilization depends upon your choice of race and/or your personal inclinations. My themed Empire army is led by a Warrior Priest.
